Hi,
I am a Montessorian, teaching children was something I never dreamt about. It happened by accident. And I am happy I met with this accident 4 years back. Montessori, for me has opened a pandora's box. Children, whatever age they are, whatever backgrounds they come from, all have one thing in common, their own identity, their own personality, their own individuality.
I am still learning to unlearn many things I learnt as a child, to present things in a new light to the children who have guided me in my journey of seeking knowledge. Over the past few years, after experiencing the pleasure of working with this wonderful creations of God, I have realised that, the way we impart knowledge to children has to change and change for good.
What children need is not a classroom-teaching approach, but an oppurtunity to explore and experience all that they see, read and understand. My goal is to see how far I can stretch in understanding their needs and giving them their own experiences, which we montessorians call, an explosion!
